Body Grace Letters

Body Grace Letters is a faith-centered space for women who want to care for their bodies with grace instead of shame. Through honest reflections on faith, wellness, and personal growth, I write about learning to honor the body God has given us—not through perfection, but through wisdom, compassion, and faithful care.

Hi, I'm Autumn

I created Body Grace Letters from a very personal place. For much of my life, I believed caring for my body meant fixing it. I learned early to measure myself against an ideal, and over the years that became a cycle of striving, starting over, and feeling as though I was never quite enough. Eventually, I began asking a different question: What if caring for my body was never supposed to begin with shame?

My faith has changed the way I think about that question. I am learning that my body is not an enemy to conquer or a project that determines my worth. It is something God has entrusted to my care. For me, that has meant learning to replace punishment with stewardship, perfection with faithfulness, and shame with grace. I am still living that journey, and Body Grace Letters grew out of my desire to share it honestly with other women who may be walking it too.

Here, I write about faith, our relationship with our bodies, wellness, self-respect, and the everyday choices that shape the way we care for ourselves. I believe lasting change is rarely found in another promise to become perfect. It grows through grace, wisdom, discipline, and the willingness to keep showing up. My hope is that Body Grace Letters becomes a place where women can think honestly about these things without shame and learn to care for themselves from a place of worth rather than trying to earn it.

My professional life has also shaped the way I see people and their stories. My background includes work in human services, case management, and supporting both adults and at-risk youth. I hold master’s degrees in Human Services and Nonprofit Management, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Through that work and education, I have become even more convinced that compassion matters, that our experiences shape us, and that meaningful change rarely happens through shame.

I'm also writing Not Yours to Waste, a Christian nonfiction book for women about learning to care for the body God has entrusted to us without shame, punishment, or the exhausting cycle of constantly starting over. The book grows from many of the same questions I explore here in Body Grace Letters, and I'm writing it from within this journey, not from the other side of it.

If you're here, you're welcome.

You do not have to have everything figured out to begin caring for yourself differently. Neither do I. Body Grace Letters is a place for us to keep learning together—to choose grace without giving up on growth, to pursue health without making perfection the goal, and to remember that the bodies we have been given are worthy of faithful care. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope these letters remind you that you can begin again—not from shame, but from grace.

With grace,

Autumn
